“Comic books are sort of the perfect medium for epic storytelling,” says Deadpool Director Tim Miller. “And IMAX is all about epic film presentation. So, you bring those two things together and you’ve got epic squared. It’s a great way to see them come to life…I couldn’t be more proud of the work that everybody put into it. It’s a great honor to do a movie and to have millions of people around the world see it. But to see it in IMAX, which is this premiere format, it just doesn’t get any better than that.”
The good news for all us fans is that we'll get to see Deadpool in all its glory on IMAX screens, which means that the picture and sound will be digitally re-mastered to create a more, as Miller would say, "epic" experience. In a new exclusive IMAX featurette, Miller talks about his comic book fandom and gives us his views on the Deadpool character and why he'll be even better in IMAX.
“Deadpool is a very grounded comic book hero.” He lives in a shitty apartment, and he deals with shitty people, and his life is not filled with chrome and fast jets and everything else. In fact, I think it’s kind of the perfect contrast to the shinier sides of the Marvel Universe.”
Get the chimichangas read, Deadpool will be in theaters Friday, February 12.
